| Impact of Grant: |
Individuals served by the funded work include individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities and their families. Our organization has become much more recognizable and, because of that, we have been successful in having a positive impact on families and individuals we had not reached in the past. We estimate, using national data, there are approximately 674 individuals with autism in the LC Valley and surrounding rural areas. There a many more who have other developmental disabilities who are beneficiaries of the services provided by The Green Apple Project. During the course of this grant period, our organization has grown significantly and our reach has expanded to include more of our disabled population. We have helped our community develop a network of support for individuals with developmental disabilities, which increases the acceptance and inclusion of this unique, valuable population. |
