LEWISTON — More than $35,000 in grant funds have been awarded to area organizations for health and wellness projects through the Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation (LCVHF).
Grant awards were presented at a reception Dec. 5, at the Red Lion in Lewiston. Overall, 24 projects and organizations were awarded grants totaling more than $250,000. This year, the foundation received 156 funding proposals requesting in excess of $5.2 million.
Local recipients are as follows:
• Prairie Mountain Nutrition, Inc., of Cottonwood; $10,500 for a refrigerator/freezer.
•Carrot Ridge Volunteer Fire District, Inc.; $15,000 for the Woodland Quick Response Unit.
•Glenwood-Caribel Volunteer Fire District; $10,280 for better AED (automatic external defibrillator) coverage.
LCVHF was established in 2017 and services the healthcare needs of residents in Idaho, Lewis, Nez Perce, Latah and Clearwater counties in Idaho; and Asotin, Garfield and Whitman counties in Washington; and Wallowa County, Ore. It is administered by a philanthropic trust by Idaho Trust Bank.
