THANK YOU FOR YOUR LETTERS OF INQUIRY

Representatives of the Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation thank you for your letters of inquiry. This initial year of grants has been met with an overwhelmingly successful response from nonprofit organizations and governmental entities.

The foundation received a significant number of letters of inquiry asking for a large aggregate amount of funding. Requests varied in size and project type, and related to all nine counties in the region it serves, including north central Idaho, southeast Washington, and northeast Oregon.

The foundation will award more than $250,000 in grants during 2018, in its first year of existence. The grants will be distributed later this year to programs that are working to improve health of individuals and communities.

The requests were to be for health, wellness, and disease prevention and were from geographic and economically diverse communities. These communities include Nez Perce, Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, and Lewis Counties in Idaho, Asotin, Garfield and Whitman Counties in Washington, and Wallowa County in Oregon.

The Foundation’s Board of Community Advisors will review the letters. Chosen requests will be invited, later in the summer, to complete a full grant application.

Organizations that are selected for funding will be notified toward the end of the year, and grant money will be distributed by year-end.

As 2018 will be the foundation’s first full year of existence, the total grants awarded will be several times less than what will be available in coming years.

Sincerely,

Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation
